The principal mission of the Village of Hinckley Police Department is to preserve the rights of the citizens and reduce fear in the community through the prevention and reduction of crime. It is our duty to anticipate and respond to events that threaten public order, life, and property.
It is essential that all members remember that in the execution of their duties they act not for themselves but for the good of the public. They shall respect and protect the rights of individuals and perform their service with honesty, zeal, courage, discretion, fidelity, and sound judgment.
Police Officers must seek and preserve public confidence by demonstrating impartial service to the law, and by offering service and trust to all members of the public.
Our broad philosophy must embrace a wholehearted determination to protect and support individual rights, while at all times providing for the security of persons and property in the community. In meeting this objective, it is our duty to operate as a public service organization. We will at all times work in cooperation with community agencies and groups to promote our law enforcement mission.
